Arrived in the late afternoon, met Scott and MaryJo, was shown to our cabin and found a welcome gift in the refrigerator, ice cold beverages. After a long drive, that was a great gift! Went out fishing for a few hours to get dinner, to the narrows, the walleyes were exactly where our hosts said they'd be. Cabin was immaculate, clean and comfortable. Far enough apart for peace and quiet.

I see you keep changing your story - what's up with that? I guess your attorney told you your slander threats were not enforceable here in the US of A. Guess what? I won tickets to the All Canada show in Green Bay from APL, so I will be stopping by to pick up my $400 check! Also my family and I visited Canada last summer, Trump is right - another sh*thole country!

Be careful - after I paid my deposit, they started to hound and hound and hound me for my final payment long before it was due. Plus contacting people they had no business contacting to find out what I was up too. So I ended up cancelling. Plus they refused to return my $400.00 deposit after returning the $400.00 deposit to my former hunting partner! They want me to move on after they swindled me out of my money. If I wanted to file a claim to my money I needed to do it in Ontario, yet they accepted my money from me at their Wisconsin address in Woodruff! I see they want me to move on, but made no comment about why they refunded Brad Harrison's $400, and not mine! I will keep giving a bad review until my money is returned. Harrison tried to swindle me out of $30,000, but I fixed him. You swindled me and now call me a child for calling you out! As soon as someone gives them a well deserved bad review, they threaten 'slander". They need to clean up their act! Also I am a US Citizen - good luck trying to get me into court in Ontario! They told me I needed to file any claim against them in Ontario, so if they want to file 'slander' charges against me, that also needs to be done in Ontario. The US Government is never going to extradite me to Canada!

Beautiful lake view. When you wake up in the morning, you can feel the cool breeze from the lake. And nice cabins.

As I said, if you think I am posting a "defamatory" review, good luck with extraditing me to Canada! As for Harrison, that late August day in 2010 after we had the cabin built and I had nearly 30 grand invested, he told me he changed his mind and was no longer going to put my name on the deed. He should have given me a check for payment in full on that day, instead of making me worry for nearly 5 years about whether I was going to be repaid or not. I hid that from my daughter for years - when she found out what was up, she had no use for him either. Also Happy Hanukkah to you!

Not sure were those other reviewers where staying, but it sure wasn't Forrest Lodge. The grounds and cabins are immaculate,Scott and MaryJo are superb hosts. Yes, they run a tight ship but I apprecaite their efforts in keeping their equipment and facilities in top condition. No room for morons here! You get what you pay for as the saying goes. Stayed with them a few years back for the first time and will be staying with them again in years to come. If you like clean, comfortable, peaceful enviroment and lots of fish, stay with Forrest Lodge, otherwise, go elsewhere. Forgot to add, they DO NOT shut the generators down at 11pm, they keep them going 24/7. They DO NOT charge $2,000 for a boat rental! Those reviewers outright lied. Ignore their stupidity!

It may appear nice... but we learned quickly. The owners never let you forget that if you break something, or leave something untidy, they will charge you damages. If you do smoke, and drop a single cigarette butt on the ground, you can start packing up to the nearest hotel. You are not allowed to rent a boat if it might rain; bring your own. You need around $3000 on you if you want to rent a boat. This was a terrible experience. Search for other lodging around Armstrong. They can keep their "Bread and butter" to themselves.

Rental equipment was perfect, ran great. Scott and MaryJo's attention to detail and their customer service is nothing we ever experienced. The boats were wiped down, cleaned, gased up, fresh bait, all ready for us to get in and go fish. The cooler with ice was a surprise and they explained it was to keep our catch fresh and firm. Again, never had that anywhere else. Will definately be back and tell my friends about this place. Thanks Scott and MaryJo for a great vacation.

You do have a fine set of rules indeed. But you don't realize that you are a little "too" strict. You're hurting your own business. You drove off my friends just recently... Again, I heard about one of the owners going into a cabin and arranging the shoes, then writing a colorful letter about it. That might be considered invasion of privacy. We were in a sense RENTING. It is not a like a free place to stay as a guest. You didn't even do any housekeeping(taking out the garbage) As for me telling lies, I removed the possible misinformation I received from talking to other people around the area. And, I apologize about that. As for the boat rental's; you wanted the rental fee, fuel, damage deposit($250) AND Pre-Authorize $2,500 in case the boat is destroyed... like you don't have insurance!? Perhaps you were just prejudice against us? I do have a few witnesses to this account. I'll say again... You have very nice cabins and a beautiful place. It is just your attitudes that make it undesirable. I'll ask my friends to write on here about what they felt about the accommodations. I don't feel like I have to stay there again. I'm sorry, if I don't feel bad about it.

My father (75), son (10), and I recently stayed at Forrest Lodge for our first visit to Caribou Lake. I can't say enough about the positive experience we had with our entire trip. Scott and MaryJo greeted us upon our arrival and were extremely kind, courteous, and helpful throughout our five night stay. The cabins were clean, the grounds well-kept, and Scott and MaryJo were most helpful with everything we needed. They took the time to explain the lake and provided great advice for a successful fishing experience. We forgot to pack a few essentials and they were most accommodating to make sure we had everything we needed. Forrest Lodge was recommended to us by some friends and the experience was everything they said it would be! We look forward to returning for years to come.
